Mike is an active NYC area live drummer, that has recently landed the "Lion King" sub chair and session drummer who also records global drum tracks from his recording studio Elohino. He is a music educator with a Music Ed. degree from WVU and a master’s from University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

With the assistance of Daniel Glass, Kelli is working to co-author a book which uniquely tells the story of drummers from all over the world navigating the infancy of a brand new instrument, THE DRUM SET through photographs, newspaper clippings, and more. "The Postcard Project: A Snapshot of Drumming Life, 1900-1930” will be at bookstores in the autumn of 2017.
Gary has lectured at the prestigious Grammy Museum in Los Angeles,the Fest for Beatles Fans, The Chicago Drum Show, historical societies,schools and universities, corporate functions, drum classes in both the US, Canada and the 2017 Manchester Drum Show in England.
In 2015, Gary represented the Ringo Starr Organization,
overseeing the Julien’s Auction House sale that included drums spanning the career of Ringo Starr including his first Ludwig Beatles drum kit, which sold for $2.1 million.
Colleagues describe his style as the "funkiest soul beat" in the business, and Purdie has decidedly never limited his talents to the realm of jazz but rather has consistently sought out new musical experiences beyond it's borders. He has anchored sessions with the Rolling Stones, James Brown and Tom Jones with equal ease and proven that - with all his attention to precision playing - terms such as "DRIVE" and "GROOVE" are definitely not missing from his vocabulary.
